Alaska Airlines Adds Flights From Anchorage To New York And San Diego

Alaska Airlines will begin seasonal nonstop flights between Anchorage and New York City and San Diego next summer.

Daily flights to JFK in New York begin on June 13, 2024, while weekly flights to San Diego International begin on May 18, 2024. The JFK service will be the sole nonstop between JFK and Anchorage.

"We're excited to welcome guests to our great state on Alaska's new nonstop flight from the city that never sleeps to the land of the midnight sun," said President and CEO of the Alaska Travel Industry Association (ATIA).

"With our warm, long days, summer is an incredible time to visit Alaska." There's so much to do in Anchorage and the surrounding communities that planning your schedule could be the most difficult thing you do before moving west."

During the summer, Alaska Airlines will fly from Anchorage to 14 nonstop destinations in the mainland United States and Hawaii.

Along with the two recently announced destinations, this will include Chicago, Denver, Honolulu, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Minneapolis, Phoenix, Portland, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Seattle, and Seattle/Everett (Paine Field).

The Anchorage-JFK route will be the longest in Alaska Airlines' network, covering 3,386 miles and using the company's new 737-8 aircraft. These new jets will have the greatest range of any aircraft in the airline's fleet.

The airline's First and Premium Class passengers get early boarding and the largest legroom of any domestic carrier.

Customers may enjoy complimentary movies and TV programs streamed to their own devices throughout the journey on its mainline aircraft, which include power outlets at every seat.

The aircraft can also be outfitted with streaming-fast satellite Wi-Fi, which may be purchased separately.
