Delta Air Lines is extending flight cancellations between New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Tel Aviv, Israel's Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) until November 21, as the crisis between Israel and Gaza continues.
Bookings with Delta for Tel Aviv to travel from Atlanta and Boston airports have been canceled indefinitely as of November 1. Customers who are affected will be contacted via the Fly Delta app and their contact information.
Delta partner airline seats are still available for purchase.
Travelers who booked a journey to or from Tel Aviv before October 11, 2023 may use Delta's travel waiver to rebook on available flights until September 6, 2024. They have the option of requesting a refund instead.
"Delta is continuously monitoring the constantly changing security environment and assessing our operations using
security guidance and intelligence assessments, including the most recent U.S. State Department travel advisory," according to the travel alert posted on Delta's website.
"While we remain committed to helping those needing travel, Delta will continue making schedule modifications, including additional cancellation on a rolling basis, as needed for the safety of our customers and crew."
Delta gave $1 million to the American Red Cross in support of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) throughout the war.
In late October, the US State Department issued a new travel recommendation, advising tourists to rethink visiting Israel.
