Southwest Airlines Redesigns Meeting Planner Program

Southwest Airlines unveiled Southwest Business Meetings, a redesigned experience aimed to make it simpler than ever for meeting planners to arrange travel with the airline.

Meeting planners will have access to industry-leading technologies as part of the new program, such as automated proposal procedures, gratis name change requests up to 24 hours before planned departure, and improved reporting.

Southwest Business Meetings was created to provide meeting planners with peace of mind when using Southwest to transport meeting attendees to and from their events.

"Southwest Business Meetings is a further advance in our commitment to better serve travel services while removing friction and

bringing an entirely novel kind of digital hospitality to handling meeting travel," said Southwest's chief sales officer.

"These new tools and features give planners the ability to focus on their event and less on travel whilst letting Southwest create distinctive approaches designed to provide more benefits to them and their travelers," chief sales officer went on to say.

Meeting planners with 25 or more passengers now have various more alternatives, including:

Requests for proposals that are automated. Proposal management and tracking have been simplified.

Requests for self-service name changes are accepted until 24 hours before departure. Meetings may be booked using the channel of your choosing (GDS, API/Direct Connect, or SWABIZ).
