Spirit Airlines has announced new nonstop service to Tulum, making it simpler for Americans to visit Mexico.

Flights from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Orlando International Airport to Tulum's Felipe Carrillo Puerto International Airport are set to begin on March 28 when the Mexican airport opens to the public.

Spirit is the first low-cost airline in the United States to announce operations at the airport's new location.

"Tulum is a growing option for leisure travelers, but our direct flights from Florida will make an excursion to Mexico's enchanting coastline easier than ever, in time for spring break," stated the vice president of Spirit Airlines.

In honor of the new Tulum service, the airline is giving promotional one-way prices beginning at $149, all taxes and fees included. The introductory rate is valid for travel between April 10 and May 21, 2024.

"We have a long history of supplying Mexico, and Tulum's new airfield is a great addition that will assist in making it easier for our guests to travel to the city and

enjoy its beaches, the past, and variety of unique experiences," the vice president went on to say.

The launch of nonstop flights to Tulum brings the carrier's international offering at Fort Lauderdale International Airport to 26 destinations and 11 destinations in Miami.

Florida serves as a hub for Spirit's flights to Latin America and the Caribbean, and the new Tulum route provides travelers traveling from 53 locations throughout the United States with a one-stop alternative.
